D.H. Lawrence’s classic, rebound for the summer of love.
D.H. Lawrence published Women in Love in 1920 as a sequel to The Rainbow, continuing the story of free-spirited sisters Ursula and Gudrun Brangwen through their respective love affairs. In 1969, the novel found a new audience thanks to Ken Russell’s 1969 film adaptation, which brought Lawrence’s intensity to the screen with a swinging sixties sensibility.
This Bantam paperback from 1969 is an almost-movie-tie-in without announcing itself as one: a psychedelic, era-signalling illustration on the front cover, to compliment Ken Russell's film of the same year.
