Founded by Jefferson Poland and others, the San Francisco Sexual Freedom League combined political activism with an array of nude stunts, from swimming and sit-ins to sex parties. Herbert Gold’s 1971 Olympia Press book presents an oral history of the movement, largely through the voices of women who participated, providing a firsthand account of a freewheeling moment in time.
